Consent opt-in
Consent opt-in is an optional server feature for controlling who is included in recordings and transcripts.
Admins configure this in the Settings tab on the dashboard .
What it controls
When consent opt-in is enabled, a member is included in transcription only if either is true:
- They have at least one configured consent role
- They opted in through
/discmeet consent(manual list)
If consent opt-in is disabled, transcription behaves normally for the voice channel.
Admin setup (browser)
- Open the dashboard
- Select your server
- Go to Settings
- Turn on Consent opt-in
- Select one or more consent roles
- Save
When consent opt-in is enabled, at least one consent role must be selected to save.
Member flow (/discmeet consent)
Members can manage themselves in the manual list from Discord:
- Run
/discmeet consent - Click Opt in or Opt out
If consent opt-in is not enabled for the server, the command tells users to ask an admin to enable it in dashboard settings.
Notes
- Consent opt-in is separate from Who can start meetings.
- Meeting access decides who can run commands; consent opt-in decides whose speech is included.
