Multi-Channel Setup

This guide covers enabling multi-channel recording and configuring notes destinations.

Enable multi-channel (Pro+)

Multi-channel is included with Pro+ and Studio. There is no add-on to purchase — you just install the assistant bots.

1. Open the dashboard  and sign in with Discord if prompted.
2. Select your server and open Plan. If you’re not yet on Pro+ or Studio, upgrade there first.
3. Under Upgrade & add-ons, find Multi-channel and click Install assistant for each channel you want to record at the same time.

Install one assistant per simultaneous channel. You only need as many as you actually run at once, and you can add more later at any time.

When every bot is busy

DiscMeet records with the main bot first, then with whichever assistants are in your server; one you haven’t installed is simply skipped. When all of them are already recording, a new recording gets:

No Bots Available: All bots are currently busy or unable to join. Please wait for a current session to end and try again.

To record one more channel at the same time, install another assistant with the Install assistant links on the dashboard.

Notes destinations

By default, all transcriptions go to the channel you set in /discmeet setup. To send transcriptions from specific voice channels to different text/forum channels:

1. Open the dashboard 
2. Find Notes destinations in your server settings
3. Add a mapping: choose the voice or stage channel, then the text or forum channel where transcriptions should go
4. Choose where in that channel: A new post for each meeting (a new thread in a text channel), or one of its posts or threads to add every meeting to

Transcriptions from that voice channel will now post to the mapped channel instead of the default. To set destinations up from Zapier/n8n or a script, use the notes destinations API.

Deleting a channel or post in Discord removes any destination that uses it, so there’s nothing to clean up when a team or client’s channels go. Their notes then go to your default notes channel. If your default notes channel is deleted, notes go to the voice channel’s own chat until you pick a new one.

One post for every meeting

Pick a post in a forum, or a thread in a text channel, and every meeting from that voice channel is added to it, one after another, each under its own title. Useful for a running log per client or team, like a Huddle Notes post in each client’s forum.

• The post keeps its name, and the bot doesn’t post a “Generating notes…” placeholder in it.
• People in the meeting are added to the post, the same way they’re added to a meeting’s own thread.
• An archived post is reopened. If the bot can’t post there (the post is locked or deleted, or the bot lost access), the notes go to your default notes channel instead.
• Only public posts and threads are listed, since people outside a private thread couldn’t see the notes.

Use cases

• Meeting Room A → #meeting-notes-a
• Meeting Room B → #meeting-notes-b
• RPG Voice → #dnd-transcripts (or use campaign channels for RPG)
• Client huddle → the Huddle Notes post in that client’s forum
