Multi-Channel Setup

This guide covers adding the multi-channel addon and configuring voice channel mappings.

Add the multi-channel addon

  1. Open the dashboard
  2. Sign in with Discord if prompted
  3. In billing or add-ons, choose Multi-Channel (or Add Multi-Channel Addon if you already have a plan)
  4. Enter a quantity between 1 and 5 (concurrent channels)
  5. Review the charge and confirm

The addon is charged on a pro-rated basis. You’ll see a preview of the charge before confirming.

Add all assistant bots

For multi-channel to work, all assistant bots must be members of your server. If an assistant bot isn’t in your server, you’ll see:

The assistant bot is not a member of this server. Please add all assistant bots to your server to use multi-channel transcription.

Add the assistant bots using the invite links provided when you purchase the addon, or contact support for the correct invite URLs.

Voice channel mappings

By default, all transcriptions go to the channel you set in /discmeet setup. To send transcriptions from specific voice channels to different text/forum channels:

  1. Open the dashboard
  2. Find voice channel mappings (or equivalent) in your server settings
  3. Add a mapping: choose the voice or stage channel, then the text or forum channel where transcriptions should go

Transcriptions from that voice channel will now post to the mapped channel instead of the default.

Use cases

  • Meeting Room A#meeting-notes-a
  • Meeting Room B#meeting-notes-b
  • D&D Voice#dnd-transcripts (or use campaign channels for D&D)

Note: D&D sessions use the campaign channel, not voice channel mappings. See D&D Sessions.

Maximum limit

If you already have 5 concurrent channels and try to add more:

You already have the maximum number of concurrent channels (5). If you need more, please reach out to our support team.
