RPG Organizations

Organizations are the named groups your party interacts with as a single actor—factions, guilds, militias, councils, town guards. Anything that has a name and acts collectively, but isn’t a single individual.

You manage organizations in the dashboard  under RPG → Organizations (not in Discord slash commands).

What you add

For each organization you can set:

  • Name — How it should appear in notes (for example, The Crimson Hand).
  • Description — Optional flavor text (their goals, base of operations, leader, alignment to the party).
  • Campaign — Link it to a specific campaign, or leave it server-wide so the same faction can show up across games.
  • Active — See Active names below.

Active names

Turn Active on for organizations that matter right now for a campaign. DiscMeet uses those names when turning speech into text, so unusual faction names and invented words come through correctly. Turn Active off for groups that have dissolved, been defeated, or fallen out of the storyline—you can switch them back on whenever they return.

Only organizations that are linked to the campaign you are playing and marked Active count for that session’s story.

Search and filters

Use the search box to find an organization by name. You can also show only active or only inactive rows to keep long lists tidy.

Add, edit, and remove

  • Add — Open Organizations, fill in the form, then save.
  • Edit — Change name, description, campaign, or Active from the row actions.
  • Delete — Remove one organization, or select several and bulk delete when you are cleaning up.

Bulk import

You can upload a CSV or Excel file to add many organizations at once. Choose Import into a campaign when they all belong to one story, or import without a campaign for shared groups.

Your file should have columns name, description, and active. For active, use yes/no, true/false, 1/0, or leave it blank to mean “on.” You can import up to 250 rows per file.
