No Transcripts Showing

If you stopped a meeting but transcripts aren’t showing, check these causes.

Bot not in voice when you started

Error: The bot is not currently in a voice channel.

Fix: Use /discmeet join to join the voice channel first, then /discmeet start. The correct order is: join → start → stop.

No active session

Error: No active transcription found. Nothing to stop.

This appears when you run /discmeet stop but there’s nothing to stop. If you never started, or the session ended already, there’s nothing to transcribe.

Fix: Run /discmeet join first, then /discmeet start. Wait for the recording to run, then /discmeet stop.

Channel permissions

The bot needs Send Messages and Manage Threads in the transcription channel. If it can’t post, the transcript won’t appear.

Fix: Check channel permissions. Ensure the bot can send messages and create threads. Re-invite from discmeet.com  if needed. After fixing permissions, run /discmeet retry to resend the transcript to your server.

Transcription couldn’t be posted

If you see an error that the transcription couldn’t be posted (e.g. due to permissions or a missing channel), the transcript was processed but couldn’t reach Discord.

Fix: Resolve the underlying issue (grant bot permissions in the channel, or run /discmeet setup to set a valid transcription channel). Then run /discmeet retry to resend the most recent transcript from the last 24 hours.

No audio recorded

Error: No audio files recorded. It looks like no audio was captured during this meeting. This can happen if: the meeting ended too quickly; no one spoke clearly enough; there were microphone issues.

Fix: Record again and speak clearly for at least 1 minute. Check your microphone and connection.

Session interrupted by bot restart

Error: Your transcription session was interrupted due to a bot restart. The session has been automatically ended to prevent data loss.

Fix: Start a new session when you’re ready to continue.

Campaign channel not found (D&D)

Error: The channel for Campaign Name no longer exists. Please edit the campaign using /discmeet campaigns to set a new channel before starting a session.

Fix: Run /discmeet campaigns, edit the campaign, and set a new channel before starting D&D sessions.

Processing time

Transcripts can take a few minutes to process after you stop. You’ll get a notification when it’s ready. Keep an eye on the configured channel.
