D&D Locations

Locations are the named places in your game—taverns, ruins, cities, anything you want called out clearly when people talk at the table.

You manage locations in the dashboard  under D&DLocations (not in Discord slash commands).

What you add

For each location you can set:

  • Name — How it should appear in notes (for example, The Sunken Spire).
  • Description — Optional flavor text for your own reference.
  • Campaign — Link it to a specific campaign, or leave it server-wide so you can reuse the same place across games.
  • Active — See Active names below.

Active names

Turn Active on for locations that matter right now for a campaign. DiscMeet uses those names when turning speech into text, so odd spellings and fantasy words are easier to get right. Turn Active off for places you are not visiting this arc—you can turn them back on anytime.

Only locations that are linked to the campaign you are playing and marked Active count for that session’s story.

Search and filters

Use the search box to find a place by name. You can also show only active or only inactive rows to tidy up long lists.

Add, edit, and remove

  • Add — Open Locations, fill in the form, then save.
  • Edit — Change name, description, campaign, or Active from the row actions.
  • Delete — Remove one location, or select several and bulk delete when you are cleaning up.

Bulk import

You can upload a CSV or Excel file to add many locations at once (for example when moving from a spreadsheet). Choose Import into a campaign if they all belong to one story, or import without a campaign for shared places.

Your file should have columns name, description, and active. For active, use yes/no, true/false, 1/0, or leave it blank to mean “on.” You can import up to 250 rows per file.

Next steps

  • D&D Items — Track important objects the same way
  • D&D Characters — PCs and NPCs, also with Active
  • D&D Sessions — Run a session when your campaign, characters, and world entries are ready
