Transcription only

Turn this on when you only want the transcript of your recordings, without AI-generated notes. It is off by default and free on every plan.

Turn it on

1. Open the dashboard  and select your server.
2. Go to Settings → Transcription.
3. Turn on Transcription only and save.

It applies to recordings that finish after you save.

What changes

For every recording, whether it’s a meeting or an RPG session:

• No notes are written. DiscMeet transcribes the audio and stops there.
• The transcript is posted as a .txt file in the usual place: the same channel, thread or forum post your notes would go to, including any notes destinations you have mapped. A short message under the file says notes are turned off.
• Discord tells you a transcript is coming. The stop message says your transcript will be posted, and a Transcript posted notification links to it once it’s there.
• Nothing goes to a campaign’s GM channel, since there are no notes to split.
• The dashboard shows only the transcript for those recordings.

Recording time still counts toward your plan the same way.

Turn it off

Turn Transcription only off in the same place. Recordings from then on get notes as usual. Recordings made while it was on stay transcript-only.

Integrations

Webhooks and the API still deliver these recordings, with the full transcript and an empty notes field.
