Dashboard settings
/discmeet setup in Discord picks your notes channel. Everything else about how your server records, transcribes and posts notes lives in the dashboard : sign in, choose your server, then open Settings.
- Who can change them: the server owner, or anyone with Administrator or Manage Server in Discord.
- Saving: changes wait in a bar at the bottom of the page until you choose Save changes, or Discard to undo them. They apply to recordings that finish after you save.
- Finding a setting: the search box above the tabs jumps to the right tab, for example “vocabulary” or “mp3”.
Settings are split into eight tabs, in the order below. “Paid plan” means Pro, Pro+ or Studio.
General
Where notes go, which language DiscMeet works in, and who can run meetings.
- Notes channel: The text or forum channel where transcripts and notes are posted. RPG sessions use each campaign’s own channel instead.
Default: The channel picked in/discmeet setup. Free on every plan. - Notifications channel: Gets the “transcription complete” pings and notices such as a post that failed for missing permissions.
Default: Not set, so notices go to the notes channel. Free on every plan. - Transcription language: The language DiscMeet transcribes in and writes notes in. 28 languages.
Default: English. Free on every plan. - Access roles: Members with any of these roles can start and stop meetings, as well as the owner and anyone with Administrator or Manage Server.
Default: None. Free on every plan.
Retention
- Notes retention: How long notes and transcripts are kept before they’re deleted automatically: 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, 1 year or unlimited.
Default: 30 days. Changing it needs a paid plan.
MP3 recordings are always deleted after 7 days, whatever this is set to. If a paid plan lapses, the longer setting is kept for 30 days before it falls back to 30.
Privacy
- Privacy mode: Posts each meeting’s notes in a private thread, so only the people who were in the call can see them.
Default: Off. Free on every plan. - Always-invited roles: Members of these roles are added to every meeting’s thread, even if they weren’t in the call. Works with privacy mode on or off.
Default: None. Free on every plan.
Privacy mode needs a text channel. In a forum channel, posts are visible to everyone who can see the forum.
Audio
- MP3 recording: Saves the full audio of each recording as one MP3, posted in Discord and sent to your integrations. Kept for 7 days.
Default: Off. Needs a paid plan.
See MP3 recording.
Consent
- Enable consent opt-in: Only transcribes people who have agreed to it. Everyone else in the call is left out of the transcript and notes.
Default: Off. Free on every plan. - Consent opt-in roles: Anyone with one of these roles counts as opted in. Pick at least one role to save with consent on.
Default: None. Free on every plan. - Opted-in members: The members who opted in themselves with
/discmeet consent. Read-only here.
Default: Empty. Free on every plan.
See Consent opt-in.
Auto record
- Enable auto record: DiscMeet joins a voice channel and starts recording by itself when a member with a trigger role joins it.
Default: Off. Needs a paid plan. - Trigger roles: The roles that start a recording. Pick at least one to save with auto record on.
Default: None. Needs a paid plan. - Voice channels: Limit auto record to these channels. Leave empty to record in any voice channel.
Default: Any channel. Needs a paid plan. - Wait for people: Start only once this many people are in the channel (1 to 10), one of them with a trigger role. Bots don’t count.
Default: 1 person. Needs a paid plan. - Record as RPG campaigns: Map a voice channel to a campaign, so recording there makes an RPG session instead of a meeting. Shown when your server has campaigns.
Default: No mappings. Needs a paid plan.
See Auto record.
Transcription
- Transcription only: Skips AI notes and posts each recording’s transcript as a
.txtfile instead.
Default: Off. Free on every plan. - Skip short recordings: Discards a recording when it stops if it was shorter than the minimum you pick: 30 seconds, 1, 2 or 5 minutes. No notes are made, and they don’t count toward your hours. Applies to meetings and RPG sessions.
Default: Off. Free on every plan. - Vocabulary: Names, products and jargon DiscMeet should spell correctly, separated by commas. Up to 4,000 characters.
Default: Empty. Free on every plan. - Meeting prompt: Your own instructions for how meeting notes are written. RPG notes have their own prompt on each campaign.
Default: Empty, so the standard notes format. Free on every plan.
See Transcription only, Transcription vocabulary and Custom prompt.
Notes destinations
- Notes destinations: Send each voice or stage channel’s notes to its own text or forum channel. Voice channels without a destination use the notes channel.
Default: None. Needs a paid plan.
See Multi-Channel setup.
